The OIG’s Top Management and Performance Challenges documents summarize the most serious challenges facing the FDIC and briefly assess the Agency’s progress to address them, in accordance with the Reports Consolidation Act of 2000 and Office of Management and Budget Circular A-136 (revised August 10, 2021). These reports are based on the OIG’s experience and observations from our oversight work, reports by other oversight bodies, review of academic and relevant literature, perspectives from Government agencies and officials, and information from private-sector entities.
We believe that this researched and deliberative analysis is beneficial and constructive for policy makers, including the FDIC Board and officials, as well as Congressional oversight bodies. We further hope that it is informative for the American people regarding the programs and operations at the FDIC and the Challenges it faces.
