Holidays and Leave

In addition to vacation time, employees enjoy 11 paid federal holidays each year.

Annual Leave - Eligible employees accrue annual leave based on years of Federal service. An employee may use annual leave for vacations, rest and relaxation, and personal business or emergencies. 4 hours per pay period for less than 3 years of service, 6 hours per pay period for 3 years to 15 years of service, and 8 hours per pay period for 15 or more years of service. Corporate Grade (CG) employees can carry over up to 240 hour of leave from year to year. Corporate Managers (CM) can carry over up to 360 hours of annual leave from year to year. Executive Managers (EM) earn 8 hours of annual leave upon appointment, regardless of their amount of Federal service and can carry over up to 720 hours of annual leave from year to year.

Sick Leave - Eligible employees earn 4 hours of sick leave per pay period.  Typically, there are 26 pay periods in a year; therefore, employees accrue 13 days a year.
