This figure represents that an effective SDLC process includes not only the system development methodology but a project control framework. The five elements of the project control framework are enterprise architecture, project management, investment management, security management, and performance assessment. These five framework elements surround and support the SDLC methodology. In addition, the figure demonstrates that the system development process starts out with the current enterprise architecture and ends with the target enterprise architecture at the conclusion of the SDLC process.
